New, new, new!

By Kylie Kirkpatrick

We have a lot of new things that happened this past month that are so exciting! We bought a new packing van that you’ll see driving around town in Pocatello, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, etc, as well as new wraps for our trucks! We will be transitioning all the trucks to match. make sure to give the BustNMoves trucks a honk and wave if you see them out working! Look out too for a hiring ad for packing crew members! We love the expansion that’s happening and we hope it will be even more beneficial to our customers.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Independence Day

By Kylie Kirkpatrick

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU HEAR THE WORDS INDEPENDENCE DAY? DO YOU THINK OF PARADES, BARBEQUES, FIREWORKS, CAMPING, AND FAMILY? IT IS FILLED WITH ALL THOSE THINGS AND MORE, BUTWHY DO WE CELEBRATE IT? INDEPENDENCE DAY IS ANNUALLY CELEBRATED ON JULY 4 AND IS OFTEN KNOWN AS “THE FOURTH OF JULY”. IT IS THE ANNIVERSAY OF THE PUBLICATION OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE FROM GREAT BRITAIN IN 1776, PATRIOTIC DISPLAYS AND FAMILY EVENTS ARE ORGANIZED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. IN 1775, PEOPLE IN NEW ENGLAND BEGAN FIGHTING THE BRITISH FOR THEIR INDEPENDENCE. ON JULY 2 1776, THE CONGRESS SECRETLY VOTED FOR INDEPENDENCE FROM GREAT BRITAIN. TWO DAY LATER, ON JULY 4, 1776. THE FINAL WORDING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE WAS APPROVED, AND THE DOCUMENTS WAS PUBLISHED.

THE FIRST PUBLIC READING OF THE DECLARATION OF THE INDEPENDENCE WAS ON JULY 8, 1776. DELEGATES BEGAN TO SIGN THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE ON AUGUST 2,1776. IN 1870, THE INDEPENDENCE DAY WAS MADE AN UNPAID HOLIDAY FOR FEDERAL EMPLOYEES. IN 1941, IT BECAME A PAID HOLIDAY FOR THEM. THE FIRST DESCRIPTION OF HOW INDEPENDENCE DAY WOULD BE CELEBRATED WAS IN A LETTER FROM JOHN ADAMS TO HIS WIFE ABIGAIL  ON JULY 3, 1776. HE DESCRIBED “POMP AND PARADE, WITH SHOWS, GAMES, SPORTS, GUNS, BELLS, BONFIRES AND ILLUMINATION.” THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. HOWEVER, THE TERM “INDEPENDENCE DAY” WAS NOT USED UNTIL 1791. INTERESTINGLY, THOMAS JEFFERSON AND JOHN ADAMS, BOTH SIGNERS OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES. DIED ON JULY 4 1826 – EXCACTLY 50 YEARS AFTER THE ADOPTION OF THE DECLARATION. IT IS ALSO  IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT NATIVE AMERICANS LIVED IN THE COUNTRY AND EACH TRIBE HAD ITS OWN NATION AND GOVERNMENT PRIOR TO THE EUROPEAN SETTLERS.

MOVING TIPS TO KEEP YOU SANE, STAY ORGANIZED, AND SAVE MONEY

I’M THE KIND OF PERSON THAT CANNOT FUNCTION IN CLUTTER AND CHAOS SO THESE MOVING TIPS ARE A LIFESAVER!:

FIRST, GO THROUGH EACH ROOM IN YOUR YOUR HOME AND GET RID OF ALL THE THINGS YOU DON’T USE ANYMORE (SELL, RECYCLE OR THROW AWAY)!

PACK “IN PLACE” AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

LABEL EVERYTHING

IF YOU CAN KEEP THINGS PACKED HOW THEY ARE CURRENTLY “HOUSED” DO SO

PACK IN PLACE
THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST USEFUL MOVING TIPS FOR PACKING AND MOVING FROM A SMALL SPACE, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, AFTER PUTTING YOUR THINGS IN THE BOXES OR BAGS THAT YOU PLAN TO MOVE THEM IN, SEE IF YOU CAN STORE THEM BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM UNTIL IT’S TIME FOR MOVING DAY.

I BAGGED UP ALL OF OUR CLOTHES AND JUST PUT THEM RIGHT BACK IN THE CLOSET WHERE THEY WERE HUNG TO BEGIN WITH. THIS GOES FOR BOOKS ON BOOKSHELVES AND ANY OTHER SPACES WHERE YOU CAN MAKE THAT WORK.

THIS WILL KEEP YOUR FLOOR SPACE OPEN AND YOUR HOME LOOKING NEAT RIGHT UP UNTIL THE TIME EVERYTHING NEEDS TO GO OUT.

Meet KEEGAN

“Hi my name is Keegan Luker I’ve been working with Bust N’ Moves since September 2019. I have been married for a little over a year and I’m also a full-time student. I’m studying sports management and athletic administration. Hopefully I will one day be an athletic director for a university. I’m also on the track and field team here at Idaho State University as a thrower. I enjoy fishing, spending time with my family, and a nice cold coke at the end of a long day. My favorite thing about working for this company is that it’s hard, fulfilling work and that I get a workout in each day” Congrats on getting crew member of the month Keegan! Your hard work and dedication has been noticed. keep it up! We are so lucky to have you on our crew!
